How can a Thermomix® or Kobold® vacuum help me with my disability?

The many Thermomix® TM6 functions, modes and safety features contribute to the TM6 being of help to many people with disability.

Of course, everyone’s needs are different, so one person will find some features more important than others, and the next person will have other priorities.

In an earlier post about the Thermomix® and Kobold® and the NDIS, I detailed some of the features for each that may help you.

How do I purchase a Thermomix® or Kobold® if my NDIS plan is NDIA managed?

When your plan is NDIA managed, the Thermomix® Customer Service submits the invoice I create for you to the NDIA as a service request.

For the service request to proceed, you must have a budget available in the specific category the products of The Mix Australia are approved under. You need to have sufficient budget under Capital Supports (Assistive Technology – Support Category 5).

If you do not have the budget in your plan, you may need to obtain an OT report and undertake a plan review before we can proceed with the purchase of your Thermomix® or Kobold vacuum. I am unable to commence the process for purchase until your budget is available.

I am more than happy to assist you and your OT in understanding the possible benefits of the Thermomix® and/or Kobold® for you and your circumstances.

The steps to purchase are:

  1. Confirm that your plan provides for the purchase of a Thermomix® and/or Kobold®.
  2. You or your Support Coordinator provide me with your plan and participant details, as needed for the invoice.
  3. I prepare the invoice for you and you will receive a copy via email. You don't need to pay this invoice (see next step).
  4. The Mix Australia customer service team submit the invoice as a service request via the NDIA portal.
  5. Once the service request is accepted and the invoice is paid by the NDIA, your Thermomix® and/or Kobold® are dispatched.

Note that the purchase of any accessories from TheMix Shop will follow the same process, however these will need to be on a separate invoice.

How do I purchase a Thermomix® or Kobold® if my NDIS plan is plan managed?

When your plan is plan managed, your Plan Manager is responsible for submitting invoices to the NDIA for approval via service requests.

If you have the budget available in your plan for a Thermomix® and/or Kobold®, then your plan manager can process the invoice I create for your purchase.

The steps to purchase are:

  1. Confirm with your plan manager that your plan allows for the purchase. You can ask them to contact me to confirm.
  2. You or your Plan Manager provide me with your plan and participant details, as needed for the invoice.
  3. I prepare the invoice for you, which is emailed to you with a link to pay.
  4. Your plan manager submits the invoice to the NDIA and pays the invoice.
  5. Once the invoice is paid, your Thermomix® and/or Kobold® are dispatched.

Note that the purchase of any accessories from TheMix Shop will follow the same process, however these will need to be on a separate invoice.

How do I purchase a Thermomix® or Kobold® if my NDIS plan is self managed?

When your plan is self managed, you are responsible for submitting invoices to the NDIA via service requests. You have the option to pay the invoice before or after you submit a service request.

If you have the budget available in your plan for a Thermomix® and/or Kobold®, then you or your Support Coordinator can process the invoice I create for your purchase.

The steps to purchase are:

  1. You confirm that your plan has the required budget to purchase a Thermomix® and/or Kobold®.
  2. If you are able to purchase first and seek reimbursement from the NDIA, then you have the option to purchase through the standard online purchase process. You will receive an itemised tax invoice.
  3. If you require an invoice prior to purchase, then you need to provide me with your plan and participant details, as needed for the invoice.
  4. I prepare the invoice for you, which is emailed to you with a link to pay.
  5. You can then submit the invoice to the NDIA and await payment to you. Once you have received the funds you can pay the invoice that was emailed to you.
  6. Once the invoice is paid, your Thermomix® and/or Kobold® are dispatched.

If you require an invoice prior to purchase then the process for the purchase of any accessories from TheMix Shop will be the same, however these will need to be on a separate invoice.

If you do not require an invoice prior to purchase and are following the standard online ordering process, then you can add accessories to your original TM6 order if you choose.

Do I get the Thermomix® and Kobold® bonus offers when I buy through my NDIS plan?

Offers when buying a Thermomix® TM6

When you purchase a Thermomix® TM6 using your NDIS funds, you will receive a Thermomix® Glider Board as your gift with purchase. This is a great accessory that helps you to move the Thermomix® safely across your bench.

The gift has been kept consistent for NDIS participants because the standard bonus offer changes regularly and may change between the time you order and the time the order is paid and completed.

The only exception to this, is for self-managed participants who choose to order through the standard online order process. When doing this, you are not flagged as an NDIS participant and you qualify for the current bonus offer.

Offers when buying a Kobold® vacuum

When you purchase a Kobold® vacuum using your NDIS funds, you also receive the offer that applies at the time your order is completed (invoice paid).

If you are located in or near Cairns, where I live, then we can always meet in person too.

Access to ThermoJo online training videos

If you purchase a Thermomix® TM6 through me, then you will also get access to my ThermoJo 30 Day Kickstart video training for Thermomix® and Cookidoo® , which takes you through everything you need to know to learn to love your new TM6. 1. Hi,
Don’t forget to check the current specials page on the site:
    https://thermojo.com/current-offers-from-thermomix-and-kobold/
For example today the Kobold vacuum cleaner products and mop attachments are a massive 25% off.
This has the real advantage of bringing the total for the combined Kobold vacuum and mop below $1500 meaning you can purchase it out of your low cost AT (adaptive technology) budget or through other flexible core funding, providing you have sufficient NDIS funds in your core budget without needing to get prior NDIA approval.
Contact Jo if you need any help with the process.
    Dale.
