Hands Free Peeling is yet another game changer with the Thermomix® TM6. The Peeler Mode, along with the Blade Cover and Peeler accessory, was launched in late 2021.
It means your Thermomix® can peel your veg while you get on with other things – but not for long, as it will only take between 2 and 4 minutes, depending on the thickness of the peel.
I admit I was dubious about this and didn’t think I would really use it. I use it all the time! So easy and so so quick.
Have a look at the first video here to see the results with peeling potatoes in two minutes.
The second video below shows you a close up of the Thermomix® TM6 screen as I explain the mode and how it works.
Three reasons I love the Blade Cover and Peeler:
⏰ It gives me time to continue other meal prep while it does its job peeling the potatoes
💰 It does a great job of peeling the unwashed spuds, so I can buy the cheaper ones!
😳 It can even peel a stack of garlic cloves, which I then store in the freezer to simplify one step in many meals
So that is just as a peeler, but this accessory also acts as a blade cover for your Thermomix® TM6, allowing you to do sous vide and slow cooking easily.
Check out TheMix Shop if you are keep to buy a Blade Cover and Peeler.
Another optional accessory has now launched in Australia, the Thermomix® Cutter which slices and grates perfectly. This is the perfect accompaniment to the Peeler – especially for a potato bake!

As a blind person myself this peeler is just fantastic – normally peeling potatoes is really time consuming and I always ended up with nicks and cuts to my fingers.
This is a time saver and gets the job done perfectly without any stress.
Really recommend this fairly cheap addon as an essential item if you already have a Thermomix or an essential accessory when you buy one.
I know buying a Thermomix with your NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) funds can be difficult and time consuming, particularly if you are not self managed, but this peeler is so fantastic and really worth pursuing.
