Making your own peanut butter, or other nut butter, in a Thermomix® is super easy and gives you a great product at the end. Making it yourself means you control what goes into it, and you won't have preservatives and various numbered additives in the mix.

Nut butter recipes on Cookidoo®

There are a few nut butter and peanut butter recipes on Cookidoo®. Some of these are from Australian collections, and others from various countries around the world.

All are simple, and I share some of them here for you to consider.

How I make Nut Butter in the Thermomix®

My recipe for nut butter could not be more simple. I have been making this since I first bought a Thermomix® in 2009.

Basically I do a big batch with more or less equal quantities of almonds, cashews and peanuts. Then blitz on speed 9 for two minutes. That is it!

The result is a semi-smooth consistency. The blending brings out the natural oils, so there is no need to add any oil at all. You can blend for longer if you choose to get the consistency you like.

This keeps for months in the fridge. Although it never lasts that long.

I have added this simple recipe to the Recipe Community, so that you can click on the button to bring it into Cookidoo® if you choose.

  1. My guide dog, Cookie, absolutely loves this home made peanut butter on his licky mat.
We had to get him a metal licky mat rather than the usual rubber/plastic ones as he started chewing and eating the licky mat to get all the nut butter!
Much healthier for both you and your pet also as doesn’t have all the additives of commercial nut butters.
